I resist the whole idea of branding myself, but then I realized (and, yes, readers’ comments helped me see it) regardless of the subject — parenting, sex, etc— my writing is about empathy, complicated feelings, and our shared humanity. Readers say they feel the emotion in my writing, even if their life experiences are totally different than mine, and they feel like we’re having a conversation when they read my essays. ❤
