Great piece. I think some of the commenters missed where you said, “I don’t believe in banning books. I do believe labels should make it easier for kids to locate books they’re interested in, and to avoid content they hope to avoid.”

I’m a 30-something who loves reading YA, and I’m a connoisseur of children’s picture books, but I hadn’t even considered what the literary future would hold for my 4-year-old. Now I’m curious to see how our local library sorts the longer kids/teen books. Great work!
