Earlier today, I was realizing the ridiculousness of the cliche, “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.”

My dog is slowing down with old age, but we recently taught him a new trick. And, anyway, literal meaning aside, it just reflects a mindset of giving up.

I agree with you. There is always time for growth, and it’s at least worth trying for.
