I appreciate your respectful comment, despite our differences. I read every word, but unfortunately I don’t have the time to write out much of a response.

I did want to mention, because it seems this might not be on your radar, that defining an embryo or fetus as life definitely does set up a legal precedent for prosecuting pregnant people for unintentional pregnancy loss. Here, I wrote about the recent, highly publicized story of Marshae Jones; thankfully, in her case, charges were dropped after public outcry.

To answer your last bit, no I would not support anything that eliminated elective abortion. I’m glad we agree on the need for greater birth control access and information. But you’re right — our Worldview is fundamentally different on this, and where I’m at, it is unreasonably invasive for anyone to force anyone else to carry a baby to term. I know, from my own pregnancy — a healthy, relatively easy one — what it entails, and I cannot imagine thinking it’s okay to force anyone to go through that against their will.
