I live on the Peninsula. We used to live in Seattle, and I walked everywhere, so when we moved out here (5 years ago), I felt very isolated. It was a big deal to start driving after not really doing it for years, but I’m glad I did, because I feel much less isolated now. My husband just doesn’t have the same need for close friends that I do. I related to a lot of this. We share a car, but neither of us work much (besides parenting), so I’m still able to use the car when I want to. Following you now!
