I personally don’t think a short horrible life is better than never being born.

Like, I’m imagining people eating even more meat, so they can breed even more animals and kill them even younger to make room for more to kill. While patting themselves on the back about all the “life” they brought into the world. That sounds nightmaric to me.

For someone who believes there’s something good about short imprisoned lives torn from family bonds, I would hope they would still turn their empathy toward improving the lives of these farmed animals. But less horrific conditions aren’t enough. No matter what, consumption of animal products needs to go way down, as current consumption is already destroying the rainforest and is a major climate change factor.

Current consumption is only met with (environmental devastation) and factory farms. If animals had better lives with more room, it would take up even more space. So lowered consumption needs to be part of any plan.

But I understand not everyone agrees with me.
