Interesting perspective. I have many IRL friends who I adore. I consider myself an introvert, but I would feel very isolated if I didn’t hug anyone besides my husband and daughter. My kid’s not in school yet, so if we didn’t seek out social time with friends, she would have no one but her parents, and I wouldn’t wish that on her, haha.
We have a weekly grown-up D&D night at our house, BFFs who live 2 hrs away in Seattle (so we do sleepovers where we stay up late playing board games, then make breakfast together in the morning), and we have a lot of friends with kids the same age as my daughter, so the kids play while the grown-ups hang.
If you’re happy as is, cool. But I’m really thankful for my friends.
