I’ve gone out of my way to stop complimenting little girls about looks (because I’ve watched my daughter and her friends receive a constant stream of appearance-based attention, and there is so much else to celebrate about them!), but recently I realized I still do it with adult women. Agree with everything you’re saying, and there are interesting questions here to ponder.
