Love this piece. I’m a bisexual woman married to a man, and I relate so much with what you wrote. It’s something I want to explore more through writing. So far I’ve just done this quickie flash nonfiction about coming out to my mom as bi (yeah, it sucked).
I pointedly came out to my daughter as bisexual around her 3rd birthday, when I took her to Pride for the first time. I explained what all the LGBTQ letters meant and where I fit in, and we’ve had this conversation a few times since. Her toys marry each other with no gender constraints, so I feel like so far, so good, haha.
