Love this piece!!

A friend of mine who is a US permanent resident (she married a US citizen) has been trying for years to help her parents visit from China. She has a 3-year-old and 1-year-old.

Her parents live in a village with no internet or printer and had to borrow a car and travel 9 hours to apply at a Visa office.

They went through so much and still got rejected. The reason was “they didn’t show evidence that they had a good reason to come home.”

My friend is going to China with the kids later this year to visit them, but she really wants them to be able to come here, to see how she lives, in her home. It makes me so mad that someone is preventing it.

You’re not naive. Things only change because we keep insisting on change. ❤
