My husband reading my writing has actually been really great for us. He understands my perspective so much better when he reads it in an essay than when we just try to talk about it. The ones that concern him always end up being his favorite pieces, and he feels the love in them. When we just talk, he often only hears the criticism and not the love.

I really enjoyed this piece. I want to write something soon getting into how my writing has affected my relationship, because I get a fair amount of comments assuming how he and/or I must feel about it, and they really don’t ring true for us.
