My impulse was to call my own parts “good parts” and “bad parts,” and my therapist was incredible at helping me see all my parts ultimately had good intentions, but they were taking over in situations where they weren’t helping.

She helped me learn to tell my parts it was okay for them to take a step back and trust me to handle things on my own.
