One of my most popular Medium pieces is about my experience doing Yoga with Adriene’s 30 days of yoga alongside my husband.

I keep up with my YouTube yoga routine, even when my husband’s not with me, but I definitely prefer practicing with him (and/or friends), so I agree that social connection makes the whole thing much more fulfilling. Part of the appeal of Adriene in particular is that she is so incredible at making you feel like you really know her and she really wants great things for you.

The article mentions how a IRL yoga teacher can read the room and adjust. The thing about YouTube yoga is you can pick the one that’s just right for you: yoga for lower back pain, yoga for when you’re sick, yoga for heartbreak, yoga for confidence, etc. I always manage to find the perfect thing for where I’m at.

I definitely don’t want YouTube to put real life yoga classes out of business, but I can’t gush enough about how Adriene’s changed my life for the better.
