Thank you for writing this and for your research. My vegan-since-birth 5-year-old (and my husband and I) are thriving without dairy. People are always so confused by how we do it, because of all the marketing and government messaging normalizing cow’s milk for humans and communicating that it’s necessary.

My daughter drank plenty of human milk, because she was a human baby. But she was never a baby cow, so she never needed milk from a mama cow.

It’s so clear to us the push for dairy is based on lobbying, not on science.

Many people haven’t made the connection of why cows make milk. It’s because — like rats and horses and bats and rhinos and humans — cows are mammals, and mammals make milk for their young.
