Thank you. I played with your NYTimes calculator this week, and it made sense to me!
I got my 2nd Pfizer dose 12 days ago, and my husband 4 days ago, so we are really trying to fathom what’s going to change.
So far we’ve been very Covid-cautious, less out of fear for ourselves and more because we’ve had the capability to stay home/outdoors and mask/distance to protect others, so why wouldn’t we?
We still have that capability, so every time I read comments from people who flout the guidelines, I think we need to use our work-from-home privilege to reduce spread and keep those people safer… even though then they think they’re magically safe, rather than safe because their neighbors helped keep spread low.
I’m hungry for more official guidelines about how to factor kids in right now. I’ve explained to my 6-year-old how low-risk she is (as part of prepping her for how our options/activities might change a little very soon), but our friends are very Covid-cautious too, so I don’t think any if them will want the kids to play without masks until the kids are vaccinated too.
I know this comment is just a lot of rambling.
