There’s an intern at our library (currently in school for her library masters). She led storytime this week, and even though the book had all non-human animals and zero pronouns, she ADDED he pronouns. Like, where it said “the bear said,” she was like, “The bear, oh he said…”

For every freaking animal.

The head librarian is so awesome and progressive about everything (and I am as well in my weekly storytimes), but it bummed me out so hard to think about 20-something-year-old librarians who haven’t gotten the memo.
