I love how you mention the prevalent idea that dogs are especially special, when really, we can find connection with so many animals.

I LOVE my dog, but yeah, it’s pretty arbitrary which animals different cultures choose to put on pedestals and which they refer to as “it”s. The “it” animals then have horrible things done to them.
