Yes, the Pregnancy Discrimination Act wasn’t law yet, but in my research for a piece I published yesterday on the Supreme Court sex discrimination cases, I found that Title VII of The Civil Rights Act of 1964 explicitly spelled out the right to not be discriminated upon at work due to pregnancy.

That said, it definitely still happened/happens. But it’s interesting that, even then, pregnancy discrimination by employers was illegal.
