Yes! I have a 4-year-old. One of my friends said a 4-year-old boy had his arm around her 4-year-old daughter, and the mom put a stop to it, because it was a boy and a girl. This was depressing to me, to inject sexuality and fear into a friendly, loving interaction among friends.
If one of my daughter’s friends had their arm around her, the kids’ gender and sex wouldn’t factor in to my thoughts on it. But this doesn’t mean I’d try to stop the touching. It means all of it would be fine, if it was consensual.
I know I’m talking about preschoolers here, but it’s the same thing really, right?
